Loring Commerce Centre
Limestone is home to Maine's largest industrial park, Loring Commerce Centre, previously the Loring Air Force Base. With the redevelopment of the former base now well underway, the Commerce Centre is the place of business for over 25 new employers including the Defense Finance and Accounting Center, Maine Military Authority, Sitel, Job Corps, the National Job Corps Data Center, and HB Specialty Foods. Thousands from Limestone and other area communities do business with, live, or work at Loring Commerce Centre in diverse fields such as accounting, food processing, mechanical trades, manufacturing, aviation, teaching, computer science and data-based services. Friends of the Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge
The Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1998, when 4,700 acres of the former Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine, was transferred to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The refuge has grown to 4,900 acres and includes over 2,400 acres in conservation easements.
