Loring Job Corp Liaison Officer


  
   
    As the primary patrol officer I am responsible for providing patrol coverage on the Loring Commerce Centre, maintaining continuity with the Loring Development Authority (LDA), to protect, to serve, to impliment community policing practices to the LDA community and provide coverage to the Loring Job Corps Center (LJCC), fulfilling contract obligations as Liaison Officer.  
   

Some of the responsibilities are to:

  • Maintain comtinuity with LDA and see that all contract obligations are met.
  • Provide continuity to all businesses located on the Loring Commerce Centre
  • Impliment and maintain community policing projects at LJCC such as...
  1. Maintaining continuity with Job Corps Center Administration.
  2. Maintaining specific Office hours on LJCC each week.
  3. Attending a weekly Special Breakfast for introduction to new students.
  4. Attending a weekly Orientation Meeting, and informing new students of Maine State Laws.
  5. Participating in Women to Women Group meetings and functions.
  6. Participating in bi-monthly Community Relations meetings.
  7. Providing lectures for Drivers Education Classes, class room and Dorm wing meetings.
  8. Providing a Police Liaison Article in the student newspaper "Loring Innovators".
  9. Attending Job Corp training seminars.
  10. Best of all - Attedning the Loring Job Corp Center Proms and Graduations.

I have also had the opportunity to make safety presentations to the ACAP Day Care Facility located on the Loring Commerce Centre. As you can see I enjoy my work immensely. I would like to take this oppurtunity to thank the Limestone Board of Selectman, Limestone Town Manager, Chief of Police James P. Madore, my fellow officers of the Limestone Police Department, Brian Hamel - President of the LDA and Eunice Johnson - Center Director of the Loring Job Corp Center, for making all this possible by supporting me in this position. My only hope is to make a difference.
