The Limestone Police Department is committed to delivering the most effective level of Police Services, providing for a safer environment, and maintaining the highest quality of life through the optimum utilization of all available resources in partnership with our citizens and developing a true concept of "community policing".

 

Goals for 2007

Increase police contact with the community, both direct and indirect, with a goal of improving cooperation and reducing crime through community education, utilizing the community policing concept, and continued utilization of federal grants to obtain equipment and personnel.

Concentrate on increasing clearance rates on all classes of reportable crimes with emphasis on violent crimes and serious offenses against persons or property.

Continue to increase both proactive and reactive strategies, including enforcement and preventive efforts, in the area of drug related crimes and offenses to include Driving Under the Influence in an effort to stabilize and/or reduce the crime and vehicular accident rate.

 
    Conduct an internal survey and review of all operations with the purpose of improving department performance, effectiveness and efficiency.

Increase efforts to provide training opportunities for departmental personnel to improve efficiency and productivity as well as strengthening our professional image.

Increase efforts on youth related offenses, including truancy, with emphasis on prevention, education and reducing the opportunity to commit serious crimes.

Continue to advance the Department's application of technology and automation in all areas to improve efficiency and effectiveness of personnel.
