Maine laws states that the operator of a motor vehicle must ensure that all occupants of that vehicle under the age of 18 are secured in a safety belt or child safety seat.  The operator regardless of age must also be secured in a safety belt, passengers 18 years of age or older are required to be responsible for securing themselves in their safety belts.

   Please be sure to take the time to secure yourself and your loved ones in a safety belt or child seat.  It's not only for your protection, it's the law.
