Water & Sewer District |
|
The Limestone Water and Sewer District was formed in 1961. The district serves the urban portion of Limestone with 6.5 miles of water lines and 7 miles of sewer lines. The water filtration plant has a system capacity of 300,000 gallons per day. A 225,600-gallon standpipe provides storage. The wastewater treatment facility was upgraded in 1981. The District employs six full time people and is managed by an elected three member Board of Trustees, who are residents of the Town of Limestone. Both trustees and employees are committed to providing the residents of Limestone safe drinking water, water for fire protection, and disposal of waste in an environmentally safe manner. A new sewer treatment board has been formed for the Greater Limestone Wastewater Treatment Facility. Board of Trustees: Neal Leighton - Chairman Board for the Greater Limestone Regional Wasterwater Treatment Facility: Neal Leighton - Chairman District Staff Members: Jim Leighton - Superintendent
